چکیده
Correction After publication of this work [1] we determined that the one of the experiments used an incorrect combination of primary and secondary antibodies. In the Results and Discussion and in the Methods we referred to an experiment which used a goat anti-14-3-3η antibody. In combination with this antibody, a secondary antibody used in the experiment was incorrect. It would, in fact be labeling another secondary in addition to the primary antibody it was intended to label. Therefore, we are not confident of this experiment and would like to remove the section from the results. The intent was only to reaffirm a previous finding. This particular experiment is not critical and does not alter the basic findings or final conclusions of the paper. In light of this mistake we would ask the reader to disregard the last part of the first paragraph of the Results and Discussion section, beginning with the statement, “In the present study...”. Also, reference to this experiment in the Methods section can also be omitted (the paragraph beginning with: “To confirm ...” and the sentences through “...as described in the Results and Discussion section.”). Images in the accompanying Figure 1A-D should be omitted and for clarity we have

The Influence of Meiotic Spindle Configuration by Cysteamine during in vitro Maturation of Mouse Oocytes
Background: The aim of this study was to assess effects of cysteamine as an anti-oxidant on rate of in vitro maturation of oocyte and determination of its effects on spindle size and shape. Methods: Pre-mature mice were primed with pregnant mare stimulating gonadotrophin (PMSG) and germinal vesicle (GV) stage oocytes were obtained 48 h after. The oocytes were cultured in tissue culture medium (...
متن کاملP-37: The Effect of Extracellular Calcium Concentration on the In vitro Maturation of Mouse Oocytes after Mechanical Stimulation by Hydrostatic Pressure
Background: Oocyte maturation is usually defined as the period of progression from the first to the second meiotic arrest and involves coordinated nuclear and cytoplasmic modification. Ca2+ signals are known as important regulators of oocyte maturation. Extracellular Ca2+ is important for first polar body formation, normal meiosis kinetics, and for preserving the chromosome and spindle configur...
متن کاملO-11: Zona Pellucida Birefringence and Meiotic Spindle Visualization of Human Oocytes Are Not Influenced by In Vitro Maturation Technology
Background: In vitro maturation (IVM) is a promising treatment option for certain infertile women. Nowadays, with the aid of the Polscope, it has become possible to evaluate zona pellucida (ZP) and spindle as parameters of oocyte quality. The goal was to investigate the relationship between the presence of the meiotic spindle and ZP birefringence with morphology of the in vivo and in vitro matu...
متن کاملStag3 regulates microtubule stability to maintain euploidy during mouse oocyte meiotic maturation
Stag3, a meiosis-specific subunit of cohesin complex, has been demonstrated to function in both male and female reproductive systems in mammals. However, its roles during oocyte meiotic maturation have not been fully defined. In the present study, we report that Stag3 uniquely accumulates on the spindle apparatus and colocalizes with microtubule fibers during mouse oocyte meiotic maturation. De...
متن کاملSuppression of chemically induced and spontaneous mouse oocyte activation by AMP-activated protein kinase.
Oocyte activation is an important process triggered by fertilization that initiates embryonic development. However, parthenogenetic activation can occur either spontaneously or with chemical treatments. The LT/Sv mouse strain is genetically predisposed to spontaneous activation. LT oocytes have a cell cycle defect and are ovulated at the metaphase I stage instead of metaphase II. A thorough und...
